# Run your mosque screen on Fire TV

A Fire TV stick can only try Salah Point through a browser for now. We have not tested it, it won't reopen by itself after a restart, and newer sticks work differently. An app is coming soon.

A Fire TV stick can only try Salah Point in a browser for now. We have not tested it, and it won't reopen by itself after a power cut. Our Fire TV app is coming soon. For a prayer hall that should run alone, use a [mini PC](/resources/mini-pc).

## Check which Fire TV you have

- **Fire OS** is based on Android. Older sticks run it.
- **Vega OS** is Amazon's newer Linux system. [Heise reported in April 2026](https://heise.de/-11263192) that Amazon plans it for all future models, with only officially supported apps. Amazon's [Vega page](https://developer.amazon.com/apps-and-games/vega) calls it the future of Fire TV Sticks.

Our coming app is an Android app. We have not checked whether it or Silk runs on Vega, so ask which system a stick has before you buy.

## Check your stick

1. Open the browser. [Amazon's help](https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=TZ6CJ7nVQJW26yiItl): select Apps on the home screen, then **Internet**. Use the address bar for the next steps.
2. Go to `tv.salahpoint.com`. It should ask which mosque to show. A blank page means the browser is too old.
3. Open your link from **Link and setup** with internet, and wait a minute.
4. Turn off the Wi-Fi, restart the stick and open the link again. Your times should return with a small "Offline" label.

## What to expect

- **No automatic start.** [Tawkit's device help](https://www.tawkit.net/en/help/choose-device-for-mosque/) says Fire TV doesn't let apps start by themselves. After a power cut, the screen stays on the home page until someone comes.
- **The screen saver.** [Amazon says](https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/web-app-faq.html) it appears after a period of inactivity. Look under **Settings > Display & Sounds**, and [Ambient Experience](https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G2XGAC3JW2FRVLRF) on models that have it. Check it holds through a long wait, such as Isha to Fajr.
