# Run your mosque screen on a PC or laptop

Connect a PC or laptop to the prayer room TV, open your link, and set it to stay awake and reopen by itself. Steps for Windows, with what is tested and what is not.

Connect the computer to the TV by HDMI, open your mosque's link in Chrome once with internet, and press F11 or double-click for full screen. Then set it to stay awake and reopen the link after a restart.

**Tested:** Chrome on a computer on 3 November 2026, with the network cut and the browser restarted. **Not tried:** a long run in a prayer room, or other browsers.

## Steps

1. Update Chrome.
2. In your dashboard, under **Prayer room screen**, open **Link and setup** and copy your link: `https://tv.salahpoint.com/your-mosque`. It works once your mosque is approved.
3. Open it in a normal window, with internet. Wait a minute while it stores your times.
4. Go full screen.

## Keep it awake (Windows)

- Set the screen and sleep times to never, under **Settings > System > Power & battery**. [Microsoft's guide](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-adjust-power-and-sleep-settings-in-windows-26f623b5-4fcc-4194-863d-b824e5ea7679).
- Turn on **Set time automatically**. [Microsoft's guide](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-set-your-time-and-time-zone-dfaa7122-479f-5b98-2a7b-fa0b6e01b261). The countdown runs on this clock.
- On a laptop, set closing the lid to do nothing, and keep it on mains power.

## Reopen after a restart (Windows)

1. Make a desktop shortcut to Chrome whose target reads: `chrome.exe --kiosk https://tv.salahpoint.com/your-mosque`. We have not tried this on Windows, so test it once.
2. Press Windows + R, type `shell:startup`, press Enter, and move the shortcut there. [Microsoft's guide](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configure-startup-applications-in-windows-115a420a-0bff-4a6f-90e0-1934c844e473).
3. That folder runs at sign-in, so the computer must also sign in by itself. Microsoft offers [Autologon](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autologon) for this.

For the [adhan sound](/mosque-tv-display) with no click, add `--autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required` to the target. [Chrome's documentation](https://developer.chrome.com/blog/autoplay) lists this flag.

## Two traps

- **Incognito:** Chrome [keeps no site data](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464) after the session ends, so the screen loses its stored times.
- **Edge's kiosk mode:** [Microsoft says](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-configure-kiosk-mode) it runs as an InPrivate session. Use Chrome or a normal Edge window.

Check it as in [running a screen offline](/resources/offline-mosque-display). Other devices: [how to show prayer times on a TV](/resources/show-prayer-times-on-tv).
