# About Salah Point

Who runs Salah Point, why it exists, how it earns money, what is finished and what is not. Written plainly, so you can judge it for your mosque.

Salah Point is a place for a mosque's prayer times, news and ways to donate, with a screen for the prayer room. It is a brand of Talt AI LLC, a company in Sheridan, Wyoming, USA. It is independent of any mosque association and is meant for mosques anywhere. This page is written by the Salah Point team.

## Why it exists

A mosque's times often live in many places: a printed calendar on the wall, a WhatsApp group, a website nobody updates, a clock someone has to set by hand. When one changes, the others are wrong. People who come to pray then see one time on the wall and another on their phone.

So the idea is small. A mosque enters its times once. Its [page](/mosques), its [screen in the prayer room](/mosque-tv-display) and the coming app all read the same data. The mosque decides its times, not us.

## What we hold to

- **The mosque decides.** We offer calculation methods and let a mosque type in its own times. We give no rulings. On questions of method, please ask your local scholar.
- **Scripture is never ours.** Quran text comes from Tanzil, translations from QuranEnc, hadith from HadeethEnc, all unchanged, with the source shown. Nobody can type in a Quran verse by hand, and we write no translations.
- **Donations go directly to the mosque.** Through its own PayPal, its own link or its bank account. We handle no payments.
- **We say what isn't done.** Where something is untested or missing, the page says so.

## How it earns money



Salah Point earns from ads in the news and in the app. The screen in the prayer room never shows ads. Businesses book ads per mosque. We read every ad by hand, then each mosque allows or refuses it. A mosque can turn ads off completely. A mosque that shows ads gets a share of the money and sees in its account what it has earned, what has been paid and what is still owed. Payouts are made by hand. Ads use no personal data and are always labelled.

We know that some mosques prefer no ads at all, and that several other products have none. If that matters most to you, those products are a fair choice.

## Where it stands today

- The website and the prayer room screen are running, and mosques can register.
- Salah Point is new. There are no independent reviews yet, and we publish no mosque or user numbers until we have real ones we may name.
- The phone app is not in the stores yet. An app for Android TV and Fire TV is being built, and is not published either. Both are coming soon.
- The screen app has been run in Chrome on a computer, also with the network cut. It has not yet been tried on real TVs, TV boxes or a Raspberry Pi. Each [device guide](/resources/show-prayer-times-on-tv) says so.
- It is not office software. There are no member lists, accounting or donation receipts.
